The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Maricopa, Coconino, and five other counties in Arizona, as the region endures its 30th consecutive day of extreme heat. Temperatures are expected to soar to 110 degrees Fahrenheit today, posing a significant risk for heat-related illnesses and deaths.

The Excessive Heat Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight. Residents are urged to stay indoors as much as possible, drink plenty of fluids, and take precautions to avoid heatstroke and other heat-related emergencies.

Symptoms of heat-related illnesses can include dizziness, nausea, headache, and muscle cramps. If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
